Studio Art: Artist Trading Cards

In Studio Art and AP we will be creating 10 unique and creative Artist Trading Cards this week that will be traded with schools around the country. the cards are 2.5 x 3.5" and should include artwork on the front and your name, school, date, teacher, and city-state on the back. The 10 cards will be due on Monday and the subject matter and medium is your choice.

I'll be creating cards along with you that I'll trade, here are a few examples above of cards I've made and traded over the years.

In the past we have trades with schools from around the world from every grade level and it's been a really interesting and fun project. Check out my ATC Pinterest Page for some great example that will inspire you!

Drawing: Last Day of the Semester Class

Today it's the Last Day of the Semester which means it's our last day of Drawing.  We will be collecting the final CHOICE assignment and choosing Artist Trading Cards from our partner classes in Idaho and Wisconsin.

National Art Honor Society- Artist Trading Cards

 This week in National Art Honor Society we will be creating Artist Trading Cards to trade with AP Art and National Art Honor Society Students in Idaho and Wisconsin.  The cards should be 2.5" x 3.5" and the subject matter and medium is up to you!

 Here's a few examples of ATCs from the past few years, we will also be taking a photo with our final Wyland painting which was submitted last week and working on creating homemade holiday cards for our Adopt a Family program!

National Art Honor Society- Artist Trading Cards

Art Honor Society: Happy Thanksgiving!

Art Honor Society & Media Art Honor Society will not meet this week because of the Thanksgiving vacation but here's a look at our new hallway poster designed in AP Art class this week.  We will be meeting next week to finihs up our Wyland mural, work on more artist trading cards, plan a Storycorps interview with a local artist, and reschedule our NYC field trip.

Art Honor Society: Artist Trading Card Day

Today in Art Honor Society and AP Art it is finally Artist Trading Card Day!  We received ATCs from around the world from Mini Mattisse's ATC swap. and today we will be sharing them and using the cards we receive for our next project.

Everyone will choose a card without based on the art without looking where it's from to reinterpret in a different medium.  You can use any materials you like and find inspiration in anything about the card ranging from the colors, shapes, subject matter, design, or even the story about the school or town that was shared.  Above is an example from last year's ATC swap from Emily in AP Art who used the colors and design as inspiration for a garment and the example below is from Luke who added some detail and intricacy to the elementary school student's design.

This year we received cards from Thailand, England and all around Italy as well as across the US from states such as Texas, Washington, Georgia, Missouri, Arizona, New York, New Jersey, South Dakota, Tennessee, Indian, and Minnesota.

It's like Christmas Our trading cards arrived today from as far away as Italy

 The cards we sent out are also starting to turn up around the world and I've received messages from teachers in Tennessee and Texas who have our cards.

AP Art: Artist Trading Cards

In AP Art we created a series of Artist Trading Cards for the upcoming ATC swap and above is a video showing off a few other the creations we made.  I love the creativity and personality everyone brought to the project, the cards look great!
